Super Intelligence SEO: What to Ask Before You Pay for It

SEO vendors are relabeling AI SEO as super intelligence SEO after the 2026 federal order. What to ask before you pay, and how to read an SI report.

On September 29, 2026, a federal executive order told government agencies to stop saying artificial intelligence and start saying super intelligence. If you buy marketing for a small business, you can guess what happens next. A lot of SEO vendors are about to discover that they have always offered super intelligence SEO.

The order changed a word in government documents. It did not change how Google ranks a page or how ChatGPT decides which business to name. This post is the short list of questions I would ask any vendor who pitches you super intelligence SEO, why the new name changes nothing about your results, and how to read a report that suddenly says SI where it used to say AI.

What is super intelligence SEO?

Direct answer Super intelligence SEO, also called SI SEO, is AI SEO under a new name. It is the work of getting your business found on Google and named in answers from tools like ChatGPT and Gemini. The name follows a 2026 federal order. The work, the ranking signals and the results you should expect are the same.

AI SEO is a simple idea with a lot of moving parts. Your buyers used to type a question into Google and pick from ten links. Now many of them ask an AI tool, and the tool answers with two or three business names. AI SEO is the work that makes your business one of those names, and it runs alongside the work that keeps you ranking on Google.

In practice that means pages that answer the questions your buyers actually ask, written plainly enough that an AI tool can lift the answer. It means FAQ content and schema markup, so the tool does not have to guess what your page says. It means your name, address and phone match everywhere they appear online. It means real links and mentions from other sites, and open access for the crawlers that read your site. And it means someone checks every week whether the AI tools are naming you. We lay out that full list on our AI SEO services page, and the earlier post on what AI SEO services include and who really does them walks through the invoice line by line.

None of that list changed on September 29. If you want the plain background on the order itself, our parent agency, Killerspots, wrote up what the super intelligence rename actually changed. This post stays on the part that costs you money: what to do when the new word shows up in a sales pitch.

Why is every SEO vendor suddenly selling super intelligence?

Direct answer Because a new label is the cheapest way to look new. The September 29 order told federal agencies to use super intelligence and SI in official communications, and the largest AI companies signed a voluntary safety accord the same day. Vendors saw the headlines and renamed what they already sell.

Here is what the order does. It tells executive branch agencies to use “super intelligence” and “SI” in place of “artificial intelligence” and “AI” in their official correspondence, websites, reports and other documents. It asks for a proposed legal definition of the new terms within 60 days. It does not rewrite existing laws, regulations or contracts, and it does not regulate private companies at all. The industry accord signed the same day is voluntary and is about safety controls on the most advanced models. Neither one says a word about marketing, search rankings or how AI tools choose which businesses to recommend.

Marketing has been here before. In the last two years the same service has been sold as AI SEO, AIO, GEO, AEO and LLM SEO. Each new acronym arrived with a fresh round of proposals, and most of those proposals described the same work with a new heading on top. Super intelligence SEO is the next name in that line, and it comes with a government seal of approval that makes it sound official.

I am not knocking anyone for using the new word. Some buyers, especially anyone who sells to government agencies, will start saying SI, and a vendor who speaks their language is being sensible. The problem starts when the new word arrives with a new price and nothing new behind it.

Does the new name change how Google or ChatGPT picks a business?

Direct answer No. Google ranks pages and AI tools name businesses based on what they can read and trust: clear answers, schema, consistent business details, real links and mentions. A federal word change touches none of that. The tools themselves did not change on September 29 because of the order, and neither did the signals they use.

Think about what actually moves you up. A page that answers a real buyer question better than your competitor’s page. Schema that tells search engines and AI tools exactly what you do and where you do it. Listings that agree with each other. Links from real sites that vouch for you. A site that loads fast and lets the crawlers in. That list was true on September 28 and it is true today.

Your customers did not change either. Keyword data shows plenty of curiosity about the word itself, with “super intelligence” pulling roughly 9,900 searches a month in the US. But when we checked on October 1, “super intelligence SEO” and “SI SEO” showed no measurable search volume at all. Your buyers are still typing “roofer near me” into Google and asking ChatGPT who the best plumber in town is. Your content should answer their questions in their words, not chase a policy term they are not using.

One fair exception. If you sell to federal, state or local government buyers, their staff will start writing super intelligence in their requests. Mentioning both terms on the relevant pages of your site is smart copywriting. That is a sentence on a page, not a new service.

What should you ask before you pay for super intelligence SEO?

Direct answer Ask what changed besides the name. Get the monthly deliverables in writing and compare them to what AI SEO included last month. Ask whether the price moved, which AI tools get tracked, and whether the report keeps the same baseline. If nothing changed but the label, nothing about the price should change either.

These are the questions I would put to any vendor, including us. A good vendor will answer every one of them without blinking.

  1. What is different from the AI SEO you sold last month? The honest answer is usually “nothing, we updated the name.” That is fine. What you want to avoid is a vague answer about new technology that never turns into anything specific.
  2. Can I see the monthly deliverables in writing? Posts, pages, technical fixes, listings work, links and tracking, each with a number next to it. If the list is shorter than the pitch, believe the list.
  3. Did the price change, and what did the extra money buy? A price increase should map to added deliverables you can count. A new name is not a deliverable.
  4. Which AI tools do you check, and how often? You want named tools and a schedule. We check real buyer questions against ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok and Meta AI every week. Whoever you hire should be able to tell you their own answer just as plainly.
  5. Do my contract terms change? A rebrand is a convenient moment to slip in a longer term or a new cancellation clause. Read it before you sign, and see our post on what to sign and what to strike in an SEO contract.
  6. Will my report keep the same numbers and the same starting point? If the metrics get renamed, the history should come with them. More on that below.

If a vendor cannot tell you what super intelligence means in their own proposal, that tells you how much thought went into the new line item.

Is a higher price for super intelligence SEO ever justified?

Direct answer Only when more work comes with it. If the new package adds pages, links, tracked questions or content you did not have before, a higher price can be fair. If the deliverables match last month's AI SEO list line for line, you are paying extra for a word that a government order picked.

The test is simple. Put last month’s deliverables list next to the new one and read them side by side. Count the posts, the pages, the links and the questions being tracked. If the new list is longer, you can have a real conversation about whether the extra work is worth the extra money. If the lists are the same, the conversation is over.

For what it is worth, we did not add a super intelligence tier and we are not going to. Our plans have the same deliverables and the same prices they had before the order. AI search work was already in every plan, from the first one up, because getting named by AI tools is part of the job now, not an upgrade.

How do you read an SEO report that says SI instead of AI?

Direct answer Read it the same way you read last month's. SI visibility means the same thing as AI visibility: how often AI tools name your business for the questions being tracked. Check that the questions, the tools and the starting point did not change, so the trend line still compares like with like.

You may start seeing terms like SI visibility, SI citations, SI share of voice or SI search. Translate each one back to its AI version and the report will read exactly as it did before. The questions that matter do not change: how many of the tracked buyer questions name you, in which tools, and whether that number is going up.

Two things to watch for. The first is a reset. When a metric gets a new name, it sometimes gets a new starting point too, and a fresh baseline can make a flat or falling trend look like a new beginning. Ask to see the old numbers next to the new ones. The second is a blended score. A single “SI score” that mixes Google rankings and AI answers into one number is hard to check. Ask to see the parts it is built from.

A good report tells you what moved, what was done that month and what comes next, in that order. You can see how ours works on the how it works page. The labels on top matter far less than whether the numbers underneath are honest and comparable.

What is superintelligence, and should it change your marketing plan?

Direct answer In research, superintelligence means a future AI that outperforms people at nearly every kind of thinking. Most researchers would not call today's chatbots that, whatever federal documents now call them. For a small business, nothing about the plan changes: answer real questions clearly, keep your details consistent, earn real links, and track results.

The word has been around in research and philosophy for years, mostly to describe systems that do not exist yet. The executive order borrows it for everyday use, so the same word now means a speculative future technology in one conversation and the chatbot on your phone in another. That gap is exactly what makes it useful in a sales pitch. A vendor can say super intelligence and let you imagine something far more powerful than what they actually run.

Do not let the word do that work. The tools your customers use today read websites, weigh sources and name businesses they trust. That is what you are optimizing for, and it is what you should be measuring.

What we are doing with the new name

We still say AI on this site and in our client reports, because AI is what our clients say and what their customers search for. Our AI SEO services page now notes that the same work is also called super intelligence SEO, so nobody gets confused by a pitch from someone else. If a client would rather see SI in their report, we will label it that way, with the same numbers underneath.

The plans did not change, the prices did not change, and the work did not change. If you want to see what AI tools can read on your site today, run the free website audit. If you are ready to start, every plan begins with a 7-day free trial.

Questions We Get Asked

Is super intelligence SEO a real service?

It is a real name for a real service, and the service is AI SEO. The work behind it is the same work it was before the September 2026 order: content written as clear answers, schema, consistent listings, real links and tracking of AI answers. Treat any claim of a brand new method with suspicion.

Does the executive order apply to my business?

No. The order directs federal executive branch agencies to use super intelligence and SI in their official communications. It does not regulate private companies, change existing laws or contracts, or tell you what to call anything on your own website.

Should I rename AI to super intelligence on my website?

Usually not. Write in the words your customers use, and most of them still say AI. If you sell to government agencies, mention both terms where it reads naturally. Do not rename pages or services to follow a word change that only governs federal documents.

Will super intelligence SEO get me into ChatGPT answers faster?

Not by itself. ChatGPT and other AI tools name businesses they can read and trust. A new label on an SEO package changes nothing about that. Clear pages, schema, consistent listings and real links are what move you, and they take the same time they always did.

What should a super intelligence SEO proposal include?

The same things a good AI SEO proposal includes: a written list of monthly deliverables, the AI tools and questions being tracked, how results get reported, the price and the contract terms. If a proposal leans on the new name instead of that list, ask for the list.
